For special Easter trees
Many people hang blown out eggs on their Easter trees. But our ornaments are so special that even the Easter bunny will be delighted.
Materials
Yarn; wire; wooden rings; wooden pearls; feathers; hot glue.
Method
Egg spiral
- Cut about 2 m of yarn and about 30 cm of wire.
- Tie a cow hitch at the top of the wire.
- To do this, form a loop from the yarn, pull it over the wire and then pull it through the back. Then pass the two ends of the yarn through the loop and tighten it.
- Next step is to make a half reef knot. For this, bend the wire so that it comes to rest in the middle of the two pieces of yarn.
- With the left end of the yarn form an L, passing it horizontally over the wire and under the right piece of yarn. A loop is left on the left.
- Pass the right end of the yarn under the wire and then pull it from the back to the front through the left loop.
- Repeat these steps until you have enough knots to form an egg.
- Now bring the two wire ends together to form an egg, fix them by twisting, cut them very short and give the egg the right shape.
- The ends of the yarn are used to make the suspension, then let them hang down.
- Decorate them with feathers and wooden pearls that you attach with hot glue.
Method
Bunny head
- Cut two pieces of yarn of about 1.5 m and two pieces of wire of about 20 cm for the ears.
- Repeat the operations of the egg spiral until the half reef knot. After tying the first knot from the left, tie a reverse knot starting from the right and then always alternate. This will keep the resulting cord straight.
- Once this is long enough for one ear, divide it in half and form the top of the ear. Leave the yarn and wire ends to the right and left of the ear.
- Now make the second ear, again leaving the yarn and wire ends.
- Wrap the 2 wires of each ear twice around the wooden ring and twist to fix them. Cut off the excess wire.
- With the yarn ends of the ears now wrap the wire on the wooden ring to cover it.
- Use extra yarn to make a hanger for the bunny.
Tip
This decoration is not just suitable for indoors. You can also use it to decorate flowering shrubs outdoors.
