Effects of the revised Act of Data Protection on hospital deliveries

Effects of the revised Act of Data Protection on hospital deliveries

The revised Act of Data Protection also affects flower deliveries to hospitals. Find out here how to avoid incorrect deliveries and costs.
Hospitals no longer provide information to florists
Since the introduction of the revised Act of Data Protection, hospitals are no longer permitted to provide information about patients. This means that they are no longer allowed to give information on whether patients are still in hospital or in intensive care. Previously, flower stores were allowed to enquire in good time whether a delivery made sense. Today, this is no longer possible.
Make sure that the delivery date is realistic
In other words: when ordering flowers, please make sure that the patient is actually in the hospital / in his room on the desired delivery date (flowers are not allowed in the intensive care unit). This is because the florist will deliver the flowers to the hospital according to your order. If the hospital refuses to accept the flowers, the florist will take them back to the store, where they can be collected within two days.
Please note the delivery confirmation
If the hospital refuses to accept a flower gift and the florist must take it back to the store, you will automatically receive an e-mail informing you that the order could not be delivered. Usually, customer service will contact you. If this is not the case, you as the customer must contact the florist so that they know what to do with the flowers. They will be ready for collection for two days, after which they will be disposed of. The customer may be charged up to 100% of the costs.
