Flowers & plants - some basic rules

Flowers & plants - some basic rules

Here you can find out why you get well faster with flowers, why arrangements and plants are not allowed and that even flowers are forbidden in intensive care units.
With flowers, you get well faster
Those who are in hospital are often left to their own devices for many hours. Flowers are like sunshine or a breath of fresh air. They are a loving gesture, cheer you up and show that someone is thinking of you. This contributes to relaxation, helps to think positively and regenerate. In this way, recovery proceeds more quickly.
Bouquets are welcome in the hospital, arrangements and plants usually not
Bouquets are allowed in hospitals, but in many hospitals plants and arrangements are not. This is because the substrate may contain germs and bacteria that cause great harm in the hospital. Therefore, potted flowers and plants (including arrangements and hydroponics) usually are prohibited.
Flowers are not allowed in intensive care units
Before buying the flower gift, clarify whether the patient is still in the intensive care unit. Flowers are not allowed there. It is best to check at short notice. After all, the patient's condition does not always improve so quickly that the transfer from the intensive care unit to the room can be carried out as planned.
Hospitals do not forward flowers
Also make sure that the recipient of the flowers is still in the hospital at the time of delivery. Hospitals do not forward flowers. For short stays or in case of doubt, it is therefore better to have the flowers delivered to the private address after hospital discharge.
